Welcome!

Welcome to my poetry Substack! I’m not really doing much social media these days, so this is the best place to keep up with my poetry, teaching, and reflections on the creative process, along with some of my favorite visual art from around the world.

Thank you so much for reading, subscribing, commenting, and sharing. It’s a huge encouragement to me as a writer!

About Me

I’m a Thai American poet, born and raised in Southern California and now living and doing ministry in Bangkok, Thailand with my wife and three kids.

I enjoy writing poems about faith, justice, and wonder, and it’s been a gift to get to publish poems in Commonweal, First Things, Presence, Sojourners, The Lent Project, and several other magazines, anthologies, and devotional resources. I’m the very grateful recipient of the 2025 Frederick Buechner Award for Excellence in Writing from Fuller Seminary, where I completed my MA in Theological Studies.

Investing in other artists is my jam! One of my highlights the past several years has been co-leading Spirit & Scribe, a workshop helping writers to integrate spiritual formation and writing craft. I also lead the PAX Fellowship’s nine-month Writing as Spiritual Formation Cohort, which is open for applications through June 15, 2026.

Here in Bangkok, I help lead United Adoration Thailand, partnering with local churches to gather and inspire people to create with God in their own language, culture, and context.

I absolutely love collaborating on projects, so feel free to reach out with any ideas!

As I mentioned above, I’m a bit in rebellion against social media, its algorithms, and the way it shreds my attention into confetti, so I’m putting most of my writing energy into my poems and this newsletter. I usually send a newsletter out monthly, with a few extra posts during special seasons like Advent and Holy Week.

Everything on this Substack is free, but I truly appreciate you subscribing. It lets me know that people are reading, which is super encouraging, and it truly helps me work toward publishing my first poetry book, which is in the slow cooker (I promise!).

You can use this nifty button to subscribe…
